North Wales Trip Report
by Chris Lyus
Departing in high spirits we managed reach our destination without getting lost! After messing about with combinations we discovered that there were people already inside. Cautious of the weather we headed to Ogwen valley for a day of epic multi-pitch routes on Idwal slabs. I dragged Sina and Meinertzhagen up a very soggy route surprising Sina at the end with her first taste of abseiling. We headed back the car after dark discovering that we didn’t really pay that much attention to the way we came. We left nick and Mathias finishing up in the dark. Retiring to the cottage we decorated the corridor with chains of soggy colourful rope.
Day 2 after a mission of getting people out of bed we enjoyed a day of sport climbing in the Llanberis slate quarry whilst some went for a game of snakes and ladders. After discovering that wet slate is quite slippery finishing just as the weather started to turn nasty we escaped to Pete’s eats before heading off on the long journey home. See you guys next time,
Chris.
